Here are two natural body wash and soap options that I’m currently using, and have been for years. They both happen to be affordable too!
On the left are two bars from The Soap Works, a Canadian, independent soap company. These can be purchased pretty much at any health store in Toronto or online at Well.ca. This is my go-to bar soap. They have many different ‘flavours’ to suit various skin conditions. Some of my favourites, as a person with dry skin and eczema are Olive Oil, Tee Tree, Oatmeal, Camomile and Emu Oil.
They don’t contain any strong artificial fragrance to hurt your lungs nor any harsh detergents or sulphates to dry out and irritate your skin. They also do not have any packaging, making them an even further eco-friendly option.
Here, I have Bee Pollen which is one of my favourite things right now, it lathers really well, softens the skin and smells delightful. It only costs about $2.29. The other one is the Lavender Blue Glycerin, which costs $3.29 and is nice and soft on the skin as well. Lavender is always a default scent for me.
My other favourite natural body wash and soap option is Dr.Bronner’s Liquid Castille Magic Soap. This is pretty much a staple that everyone in the natural lifestyle realm agrees that you need to have. I believe it’s called Magic Soap because it can be used for cleaning anything – your body, your bathroom, mopping the floor, dishes, laundry, etc. I keep a bottle of it in the bathroom and use it for hand and body wash, laundry and cleaning the sink and tub. A little goes a long way, and this bottle lasts quite a while as you’re supposed to dilute the solution. I dilute about 1 part in 5 parts of water in a liquid soap pump.
Once again, this natural body wash and multi-use soap has no synthetic preservatives or harsh detergents. Dr Bronner’s formulation contains organic and certified fair trade ingredients. The bottle is 100% recycled plastic.
