I’ve created this unexpected series of photos called “where summer meets fall” on my Instagram.
And it has literally been a clash of Summer and Autumn here in southern Ontario with a heat wave at the very end of September! It has been summer dress weather all this week, yet with Fall beauty unraveling more and more everyday.
As soon as September arrives, everyone is quick to share images of crisp leaves, pumpkins and the standard fall colours. But I think this is a little bit too rash. If we pay attention to nature, (at least in my part of the world) it’s not all like that so early into the season.
I think we got so caught up with moving forward, onto the next trend, even seasonal trends, that we don’t really notice the transition. After all, most people don’t spend time outdoors anymore.
But if you stop and look around, there are summer colors mixed with golden autumn hues.
Actually something I learned is that Asters, the purple flowers, bloom late Summer, early Fall.
Rosehips are about ready to be picked but I think they need to be more ripe. They contain vitamin C and are edible when ripe and are used to make tea. I haven’t done this myself yet, though.
I just liked the colors in this scene.
And finally today, Fall-ish weather is starting to grace us with it’s presence.
Hope you all enjoy the last couple days of September!
