Finding a natural and organic black eyeliner pencil can be a difficult task. I’ve used some that glide on a bit too easily and therefore leak, and another that felt like I was trying to draw a line with hard wax on my eyelid. This one though, I would say is just right and a great green beauty option for an eyeliner pencil.
The W3ll People Hypnotist Eyepencil performs better than the black Benecos one I was using before, and even better than the Rimmel I had used before switching to natural and organic makeup. I’m definitely really pleased, and surprised (pleasantly) with its duration when used along the upper lash line. It has lasted me literally from morning to evening without fading. Mind you, it is getting cooler and the air is getting drier, so the climate here might be conducive to its performance. (Here in Canada, makeup performance is affected by the weather, either for the good or bad).
This pencil works best when your lids are dry, either without product or on top of a powder shadow. Eye liner pencils are never waterproof so, as is normal, if your lids are oily, then the liner will end up smudging into the crease. Just be sure to powder your lids before, or don’t use a face serum in the eye area right before using this liner. Oh, and definitely do not use it on the top lash line with RMS Beauty cream eyeshadows because it will smudge into the crease.
For along the waterline, I would say it is just like any other pencil liner and requires a touch-up here and there. My tips for keeping liner put in the water line, would be to line the lower lashes with a powder shadow and apply a very light coat of mascara.
All in all, I’m impressed with this product. Just like any other eye pencil, it is not waterproof, but personally this is why I prefer them to liquid, because I like a smoked-out liner look and it’s easier to remove. Its durability is better than any other liner I’ve used before, all while applying smoothly, so for that reason the W3ll People Hypnotist is a winner in my books.
