A review of W3ll People Bio Brightener in comparison to RMS Living Luminizer
This is a sample of the W3ll People Bio Brightener that I received from when Shirley (one of the founders of the brand) came to visit the Detox Market in Toronto. The actual retail container is in a tube like as you can see here.
This is the second natural and organic cream highlighter I’ve tried. I’ve been enamored with the RMS Living Luminizer for quite a while now, and I definitely like the Bio Brightener just as much.
The formulation of the Bio Brightener is different from the Luminizer and this is probably what gives it a noticeably different consistency as well. The RMS highlighter has coconut oil in its formulation – which I’ve heard causes negative skin reactions for some people – while the Bio Brightener does not.
The W3ll People highlighter has a thicker consistency which allows it to apply more thinly when warmed up with the fingertips. I think that this quality makes it integrate nicely into the skin, effortlessly providing a natural glow. By contrast, the Luminizer has to be worked in a little more to achieve a natural looking radiance and it also kind of sits on the skin whereas the Bio Brightener absorbs into it. I also feel like this makes it stay in place better.
Then, there is the shade. As you can see, the W3ll People Bio Brightener is cool and pearly like the Luminizer, but it is not as white as the latter and has a dusty rose color to it. The color hardly shows up, but I think this also helps it to give a more natural appearance.
Here is a swatch of each applied very densely:
