I love to try artisanal products from companies that are local to me and dedicated to healthy, natural skin care. I especially enjoy little innovative creative products like this orange scented Loofah Soap Slice by Inspired Soap Works. Isn’t it neat looking?
I thought it might be a real orange slice but it’s actually a loofah dipped in their soap formula made from vegetable glycerin and essential oils. Natural loofahs such as this one are from the squash family, and so this product is compostable and biodegradable when you are finished with it. Pretty neat! Orange peel oil was used in this formula for the scent, and turmeric for the orange color.
It smells so delicious and fruity, and leaves the skin nice and smooth. It exfoliates nicely which is important to keep the skin rejuvenated and fresh and also to facilitate blood circulation for health.
Inspired Soap Works loofahs can also be used in combination with their Dead Sea Salt Foot Soaks, and Hand/Foot Salve for an at-home rejuvenating foot spa treatment.
I had a chance to chat with Laura, the founder of the brand, who explained to me the health benefits of foot soaks and how they help to detoxify and promote circulation. Laura developed the line to help alleviate her diabetes, a condition that can damage nerves and reduce blood flow to the feet. I hadn’t been interested in foot soaks before, but after learning of all the beneficial effects, I’m looking forward to trying one soon as part of an at home pedicure.
Inspired Soap Works boasts some popularity, having been featured in the Canadian Living “Best Of Canada” July 2014 issue, being a regular merchant at the One Of a Kind Show, and of course being carried at the Detox Market which has strict standards for the products they sell.
