This is the first natural/ organic foundation and concealer that I have used. Previous to trying this one, I had used popular name brand foundations which served their purpose, however after a couple of hours I would get dry, flaky patches on my face. I just thought that this was something I couldn’t help, since I have always had sensitive, eczema-prone skin. I am really glad that I have decided to become more informed about my cosmetic choices because I have found that this is something that I can control.
For almost a year now, I have been using Sappho’s liquid foundation in conjunction with their neutrality concealer. I was skeptical that it would function as “normal” foundation does considering how different the ingredients are, but I was pleasantly surprised- it applies just fine and the coverage is great. It also has a nice, soothing scent to it, as opposed to smelling artificial. I don’t get any flaky patches with this foundation, and my skin actually feels better.
The concealer works really well, and will definitely cover any discoloration. It is very pale, however the tone can be adjusted by mixing it with a bit of the foundation to create a custom blend suitable for your complexion.
I currently have three bottles of Sappho’s liquid foundation (yep, I really like it that much) each in a different shade; Leisha, Lisa and Jennifer. Why three different shades you may ask?
I bought Leisha at first, but then started to find it too pale. Lisa matches my skin tone pretty well on its own when I am at my normal color. I then got Jennifer because I had tanned in the sun a lot at the time (I no longer care about tanning) and this matched my complexion when I was tanned.
