The RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek “Beloved” is a nice little addition you might consider adding to your makeup bag for this spring/summer. The really vibrant, poppy red color is suitable for the trend coming up this season, and then of course it has the added benefit of high quality organic oils. As always, RMS Beauty products are formulated with raw, food grade coconut oil that is processed in a way to keep the nutrients intact, so the wearer of the product receives the healing and anti-aging properties of the oils.
I have a been a user of their “un” cover-up for a while now and recently have been rendered speechless by my love for the living luminizer. A cream highlighter that adds radiance and nourishes the skin. C’est l’amour.
Anyways, lately I’ve been occasionally wearing “Beloved” with those two products I just mentioned when I’m feeling like a nice pop of color. And it is very vibrant as you can see in the photos.
Here is a swatch. On the left, I just swiped it on once without blending and on the right I’ve kind of blended it in. So you can see how the color can be built up.
Ingredients: *Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, *Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Tocopherol (non-GMO), Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) seed Oil, Propolis Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, *Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain: [+/-Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Mica CI 77019, Iron Oxide CI 77491, CI 77492]
This product is described as a lip and cheek stain, and stain it definitely does. When it dries the color does not go away and the lips are stained that color. So you have to be committed to having bright red lips the whole day unless you can scrub it off with coconut oil, or whatever you use to remove makeup.
This quality however allows it to maintain it’s vibrancy for quite a while, requiring touch ups infrequently to amp up the glossiness again.
The consistency is nice. It’s like a thick gloss but neither sticky or slippery. It sits nicely on the lips and doesn’t bleed out. It’s definitely moisturizing and light weight – you’ll forget you’re wearing it if you don’t look in the mirror for a while.
Because the color is so potent and stains the skin, I prefer to apply it with a lip brush for accuracy. I also line my lips with Jane Iredale lipliner in Crimson before. It’s not a perfect match, but I just apply the liner very lightly and really blend it in before adding the Lip2Cheek. I personally never wear red lips without a liner because I think with such bold color, the edges have to be properly defined for it to not look messy.
It doesn’t have a strong scent, just a light essence that kind of reminds me of coconut macaroons.
My overall impression RMS Beauty “Beloved” is that I find the color fantastic and I love the texture and feel. It can be messy however since it has to be removed from a jar, so attentiveness and precision is necessary with this product. I’m looking forward to wearing it with some pretty (and hopefully eco-friendly) dresses this summer.
You can purchase it in person or online at the Detox Market.
