This FIG Amo dress will be cherished as a staple for a long time, I’m sure. As with any black dress, it can be worn casually or dressed up with some accessories and heels.
Pieces like this are essential for me, a rare female who does not like clothes shopping, and would just prefer to have articles of clothing that are timeless and occasion-flexible.
Part of the reason I never really liked shopping for clothes, was that I always had a sense that it was wasteful and trivial. There are so many options these days that are flimsy and fall apart quickly, and made mostly just to look ‘trendy’ a superficial reason that doesn’t justify supporting mega corporations exploiting people in third world countries. And the use of toxic dyes and chemicals polluting the environment.
I’m glad that now more sustainable, local and toxin-free options are becoming available.
FIG Clothing is a Montreal based line dedicated to manufacturing and developing their products entirely within Canada, thereby supporting local businesses and reducing travel related to the production and distribution of clothes.
The Amo dress is made with organic cotton and bamboo viscose. I purchased mine from Chartreuse Style in Toronto, a store committed to selling eco-friendly apparel.
