I’m an artist and mother living among the white pine woods in Canada.
I have a very keen interest in nature and learning about plants in my local area, which is the main inspiration for my work. Having a baby daughter now has enhanced the importance I place on connecting with nature.
I am a self-taught artist.
I have a BA from Ryerson University and I used to be a waitress with some random office jobs in between. Feeling like University wasn’t useful or inspiring, and being depressed from working in the serving industry with the late nights and drunk people, I endeavoured to develop more skills especially in the digital world, and so I started a blog.
I believe that starting a blog is a great way to learn new skills on your own and find out more about yourself. Through blogging I rekindled my forgotten love for photography and art (which I wanted to pursue as a teen). I originally blogged in the topics of green beauty and fitness since that was what I was into at the time. I learned that I don’t like covering those topics, but I do like creating images. At the same time I felt an inexplicable desire to be in nature more and leave behind the fast-paced culture of city life and all that comes with it.
I feel content and grateful now. I think that if you’ve always wanted to do something creative or different, you should not delay because it can take longer than expected to fully realize what you like to do.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you find something inspiring or useful.
Some other things about me:
I love antiques, eco-friendly clothing and learning how to live slowly with natural and DIY home things. Every year, I’m gradually learning how to grow my own food. I love dogs and I’m a book nerd who loves ancient myths and fairy tales.
